Active forgetfulness (A Prime Minister’s Tale)

Remembering is such a burden

I just want to speak and forget

So I face no consequences

And have nothing to regret

The people have faith in me

Of this i have no doubt

But I soon learn to forget

And throw belief completely out

The corner is the place for me

Like a rat I can defend

Bang my fists in a fit of rage

Easily finding my way to pretend

No real confidence in me

I can that so easily survive

Untouchable in my bubble

Forgetfulness shall me revive
