The sun and the rain

The sleighted and offended rain

Wanted to make the sun pay

For its boldness and duplicity

Its reign once again shortlived

Thrawted by heated rays.

Cunning and deception

Held sway to evaporate

The dreamy dank play

Of the angry and desperate storm.

And all this took place

while the whispering wind

Told of far off places

Where the people loved

And no fear was known

Except that their idyll

would one day perish

And the abhorrent contest

Would raise its ugly head again.

The gargantuan battle between

The sun and the rain.
