Melodic isolation

The melody of societal stagnation

Is a soporific symphony,

Each counterpoint reduced in intensity,

A monotonous musicality,

No real bliss and blues,

Only the slight deviation

In tone to make us feel alive.

The ensemble plays a steady tune

While the soloist makes his merry way

In and out of the refrain,

Trying not to disturb the whole.

Each player playing his part

To attain a beautiful coda.
