Anger

Where does the anger come from?

A step further down the trail,

another idea against which to rail.

Tired of the repetition

of so many years of living,

going round and around.

Do we make steps forward

in all the backward moments?

Can we hold onto hope anymore?

Desperation seeping into our bones

and tying a noose around our neck.

  1. It always strikes me as unusual when people automatically assume the things we write are specifically about us, although it may be the case it can be slightly agitating if we have taken the time to contemplate a particular issue for it to be immedately assumed as personal. That said maybe peoples intentions are well meaning. Art in all its forms is interprative, that is how it reaches such a varied audience. Anyway, to your poem…you convey the cyclical dangers of unprossesed anger so very well here Jon, it is like a pit of darkness or a hamsters wheel…we need to move on from it but the bastard keeps coming back. https://wolfgarwords.com

    1. Hi David, Thanks for commenting. I do agree with you. I know from your past experience that this has hit you very hard. Sometimes (well, most of the time) people should try and take a step back before reacting. It is difficult, but necessary. It takes more time and more effort, but in the end it is worth it. This poem catches me now (and for a few years past) just tired of the constant repetition of life. I am really tired and lost. I hope it picks up soon. Sorry for the moan, but that’s just how I feel at the moment. Thanks again, Jon.

  2. Hi Jon, my apologies for the much delayed response…Christmas eh! I am with you on the drudgery of every day life, there has to be more doesn’t there. I hope your spirits are on the rise, if not I hope things change for the better very soon. Take care Jon.

    1. Thanks, David. I should apologise. Your response was much less delayed than mine. It is all we have so, we should try to make the most it, I guess. Less time alone would be a good thing for me. I get too introspective. Bit pissed off at the moment as I am not writing a lot. Too much noise in my head. It will pass. I am sure. Take care of yourself and I hope you have a restful end of the year.
